Introducing Swift Fulfilment’s Disability Confidence Commitment

At Swift Fulfilment, we take great pride in ensuring our clients are well taken care of and that their needs are met – so when it comes to making sure all customers feel valued and respected within our company, we want to go the extra mile. That’s why today we’re proud to announce that we have become a Disability Confident Employer! This is an important step for us on our journey towards greater Accessibility and Inclusion at work for everyone who uses or works with the services provided by Swift Fulfilment. Our commitment as part of this scheme will ensure more jobs are open to disabled people who may otherwise find it difficult navigating traditional recruitment channels, marking a major milestone in promoting diversity across our workforce.

Understanding ‘Disability Confident’

Disability Confident is a brilliant program aimed at supporting individuals with disabilities in the workplace. The scheme provides an 8-week work placement opportunity that allows disabled individuals to gain valuable experience and add to their CV. This initiative was developed by employers and disabled people’s representatives to make it rigorous but easily accessible, particularly for smaller business.

The scheme has three levels, each designed to support businesses on their Disability Confident journey. These levels are:

  1. Committed (Level 1)
  2. Employer (Level 2)
  3. Leader (Level 3)

What it means to us

At Swift Fulfilment, becoming Disability confident means embracing all individuals and ensuring everyone feels valued and supported in the workplace. It’s about understanding and acknowledging that every person, regardless of ability, has unique talents and strengths to offer. Being Disability confident means actively seeking ways to break down barriers that may hinder inclusivity and accessibility, and creating a safe and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. We believe in celebrating diversity and prioritising inclusivity, and becoming Disability confident is just one step towards achieving this goal.

“I think this will help a lot of people with disabilities, I have seen first hand how hard it can be for disabled people to get a job. My brother has a disability, and he struggles to find companies that have the correct facilities and knowledge to support him, I am pleased Swift Fulfilment is giving disabled people the same opportunities as us.”

“Becoming Disability Confident makes me proud to be apart of an inclusive workforce”

– Elliott Watt, Assistant Warehouse Manager

“As an employee at Swift Fulfilment, I am incredibly happy to see that our company has become disability confident. It means so much to me and my colleagues who have disabilities that we are now supported and included in the workforce. Unfortunately, very few employers have taken the steps to become disability confident, making it difficult for people like me to find meaningful employment. But with Swift Fulfilment leading the way, I am hopeful that other companies will follow suit and create a more inclusive workplace for everyone.”

– Kimberley Bridges, Warehouse Operative
